5 Years In Focus
"The club night that almost didn't exist"

Our story.

Founded in July 2019, Club Mumbai Vancouver emerged through significant adversity. Ritesh Maisuria (Tubbs) and Jagroop Kang of Tubbs Entertainment collaborated with TBM and Andrew Kochhar of Hustle Records to establish the Club Mumbai Vancouver brand. At that time, we were pioneering as the first and only group hosting a weekly South Asian club night, a concept virtually unheard of in North America.

MIA, then owned by Blueprint, was the first nightclub to offer us the opportunity to run a weekly South Asian night. Following an eight-week trial period, our ability to consistently draw a crowd earned us a permanent residency. During this period, we hosted notable personalities such as Mickey Singh, Manpreet Toor, Dilpreet Dhillon, and many local celebrities who joined us to experience the unique atmosphere we created.

Our strong following led MIA to grant us their two busiest nights of the year, Halloween and New Year's Eve, a rare occurrence in the nightlife industry where clubs typically retain these profitable nights in-house.

Despite our success, the pandemic in March 2020 halted all nightlife activities, leading to MIA's closure due to financial strain. After a brief shutdown, one of the initial clubs that had rejected our proposal reconsidered and invited us to bring our event to them. In July 2020, under pandemic restrictions, Club Mumbai Vancouver reignited its mission to provide the only weekly South Asian club night in the city.

For 3.5 years, Club Mumbai Vancouver thrived, averaging over 800 patrons weekly, making it one of the busiest weekday nights in the city. We hosted prominent acts such as Raf Saperra, Bhalwaan & Signature by SB, BK, EZU, Sunny Malton & AR Paisley, Brown Boys, Miss Pooja, Jassa Dhillon, Manpreet Toor, and many local legends like Intense, Channi Nattan, and Inderpal Moga. These years solidified our brand not only locally but globally, positioning us as leading nightlife event organizers.

In January 2024, we expanded our events, moving our Thursday night to Cabana Lounge on Granville Street, starting a weekly Sunday night at Studio Nightclub, and launching a Friday night at Aura Nightclub. This expansion made 2024 our busiest year, with three nights a week in the Granville Entertainment District.

In April 2024, we hosted our biggest event yet. Partnering with Live Nation and Double Up Entertainment, we organized the official after-party for the Diljit Dosanjh Dil-luminati Tour at the historic Commodore Ballroom. This venue, which has hosted legends like Tina Turner, Kiss, David Bowie, and Lady Gaga, saw our acts Sultan, BK, and Intense perform for our largest audience of 1400+ Club Mumbai patrons.

We take pride in having paved the way for other event organizers to host South Asian events without facing the challenges we encountered in 2019. Today, Vancouver hosts multiple South Asian events weekly at various venues. We look forward to expanding our weekly nights and collaborating with esteemed organizations like Live Nation, aiming to bring our unique brand of South Asian nightlife to more parts of Canada and North America.
